Next, apply sandalwood paste on the 4 mukhi rudraksha
Light agarbatti or kapur and wave it around the rudraksha to purify it
Offer flowers to the rudraksha, preferably white in colour
Touch it to a shivling or photo of Lord Shiva while chanting 'Om Namah Shivaya' 11 times.

The 2 nd type of puja can be performed as follows:

You will need Panchagavya/ Panchamrit and Gangajal in an achmani, along with offerings like peepal leaves, gangajal, dhoop and coconut to perform the puja
Sit facing east
Wash the rudraksha in plain water mixed with Gangajal
Place it on a copper plate with 9 peepal leaves.
Apply sandalwood paste to the rudraksha and offer flowers
Chant: AUM Namaha Shivay, Aum Hreem Namaha’ 108 times.
